Stone By Stone
In Fall 2010, AOL awarded $25,000 grants to 25 creatives. A year later, AOL followed grant winner Taj Forer to Germany as he utilized his grant to produce and promote his book Stone by Stone.
Stone by Stone is a photographic examination of hunter-gatherers. Unlike modern architecture, which often marks a distinct break with it's foundation, Forer’s subjects appear to be an extension of the natural landscape. The work is both a preservation of an alternative life-style and a depiction of survival.
AOL and Taj Forer celebrated the release of Stone by Stone in New York on Friday October 28, 2011 at the Bubble Lounge (228 W. Broadway #1) from 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM. The AOL Artists twitter and tumblr hosted a live feed of the event showcasing the success of Taj and Stone by Stone.
