Red Dress

Red Dress

The Heart Truth® introduced the Red Dress as the national symbol for women and heart disease awareness in February 2003. Since then, the Red Dress Collection Fashion Show has been used as a valuable platform to save lives throughout the United States—featuring nearly 70 top fashion houses and 150 celebrities since its inception. Through these efforts, the Red Dress has been established as one of the most recognizable health symbols in the country. Fewer women have died from heart disease each year since the inception of the Red Dress.

In Partnership

AOL proudly joins The Heart Truth as a partner in energizing the online presence of the Red Dress Collection Fashion Show. Under the banner of its mission to inform, entertain, and connect the world, AOL will help raise awareness of heart disease among women through compelling coverage of the Red Dress Collection 2011. In addition, AOL, in collaboration with The Heart Truth, has developed a signature artwork piece. The AOL Red Dress canvas will represent AOL throughout its Red Dress collaboration and will live as part of the AOL Artists collection. AOL will promote awareness of the cause throughout fashion week as part of its committed presence at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

The sketch for AOL was drawn by American fashion designer Carmen Marc Valvo, who has contributed 7 gowns to The Heart Truth® since 2003. This particular gown was created for and worn by model Carmen Dell'Orefice in the 2005 The Heart Truth® Red Dress Fashion Show.
