Camphouse Bird Olivia Bouler
Olivia Bouler
A young and talented artist named Olivia Bouler, 11 years old and with ties to the Gulf Coast region, has launched a personal crusade to do whatever she can to help fight against the looming environmental disaster from the oil spill. Olivia not only has family members who live near the gulf, but she has a deep love for birds. When Olivia first heard about the leaking oil, she immediately called Audubon to ask what she could do to help. From that conversation, she got the idea to use her artistic talent to create original watercolor images and provide copies for anyone willing to donate money to an organization that provides wildlife disaster relief, such as Audubon.

When AOL heard Olivia’s story, we were inspired by her commitment at such a young age and her dedication to saving wildlife in the gulf. AOL has decided to partner with Olivia to feature a painting of an Oriole that she painted on her granddad’s porch in Tunnel Springs, Alabama, as a background canvas on AOL.com. There are over 14 million people that visit AOL.com everyday and we wanted to share Olivia’s artistic talent and incredible passion for this important cause. We wanted to create a platform to share Olivia’s creativity with the world and make sure our consumers know about the incredible work she is doing – one 11-year-old using her artistic talent and love of birds and wildlife to spark a philanthropic movement. In addition, AOL is so inspired by her story and passion that we are donating $25,000 in Olivia’s name to Audubon.

We are encouraging our consumers and the community, if they are inspired like we are, to donate to Audubon and support this cause.

To date, Olivia has more than 28,500+ Facebook fans following her journey, has raised several thousand dollars and has been covered by media around the world.

Olivia's passion for birds -- especially those in jeopardy in the gulf coast -- has been the subject of story on AOL's Good News Now.
