Phillip Low

Phillip low hails from Vancouver, British Columbia. Working in London as a fashion stylist led him to St Martins School of Art, where he completed his BA and subsequently moved to New York.

Working in the field of product design and always cross-referencing fine art and his love of plastics as a medium led to a desire to create sculpture.

He creates pieces that are interactive in some way – with light effects and by making them of a scale that invites manipulation by the viewer. His emphasis is on color, geometry and handmade integrity.

He lives and works in Manhattan.

What motivates you? Process – the step-by-step increments involved in a finished project. Any wise words of advice? Nothing is perfect. Favorite things to do when not creating? Running, playing tennis and walking my dog. What would the ultimate job be? I have it. What or whom inspires you? My friends and family, of course. Dense materials like acrylic, bronze and stone.
