Summer Series, Part One

Mar 25, 2012 marked the first installment in a series of canvases that were launched throughout the season, all focused around the theme of summer! We welcomed AOL Artists Rachell Sumpter and Keat Toah to the AOL Artists family, and welcomed back long time friend to AOL and Alumni AOL Artist, Mr. Kiji. The six canvases were Keat Toah's "Lady Liberty;" Rachell Sumpter's "Regata," "Balloons," "Listen," and Sweetheart Ride;" and Mr. Kiji's "BBQ," all of which are reminiscent of summertime, sunshine, and the beach. Keat Teoh is a New York based artist who creates witty, lighthearted illustrations using watercolor. His work has appeared in publications such as the New York Times, Inc. Magazine and the Boston Pheonix. Rachell Sumpter is a West Coast artist who creates small-scale paintings that celebrate the beauty of western nature and wilderness. Rachell has exhibited in galleries internationally including shows in Tokyo, Stockholm and Madrid.
